Celestial Universe

Anchor 1

Celestial Universe Comics is more than an idea. It is a dream constructed from a hard life and embellished with cherished relationships. It is not a hack-and-slash of my favorite comics, shows, books, movies, etc like I see so many artists doing today. I am not trying to say that I am completely original, it is very hard to make that claim much less to back it up in the world we live in today. Nor am I trying to say that all good artists are dead. Some people still make good works, but I'm a natural critic so I will admit that a lot of what the past generation has created has failed to sufficiently entertain me. Where is the creativity in slapping a new title and a few new concepts and characters on your favorite childhood fantasies?

I believe that the best recipe for good fiction is 45% life experience, 35% love for your work, 15% loving and supporting relationships, and only 5% inspiration from other creators, no matter their skill. It is with this recipe that I have imagined over twenty different storylines to be used in this universe. Below I have only listed the first six stories that I intend to create.

                The Ark

Arthur Wright is my first character that I have created. His first comic is up for sale on Comixology.com and the art for his second comic is halfway done. I am currently scripting his third comic.

Arthur is a waiter working in New Orleans when a strange cosmological event happens that brings magic back to our world after it had been long dead. Arthur discovers that magic was once so powerful, creatures were born from it. Creatures who, for the past thousand years, have reincarnated alongside human souls, dormant and essentially slumbering until now. More than that, Arthur is a prophesied herald of this Awakening, with one of each of the creatures of magic attached to his soul. Now he struggles with understanding himself as well as all of his souls and deciding what being the herald does and should mean to him. OH and trying to keep his day job while he's at it... Best of luck to him!

Voodoo Queen

Rachida Vae (depicted above) was born from my love of New Orleans. The culture, ethnic diversity, and the amazing people I met down there are the true colors of this character. Currently, I have her first issue completely scripted and will start my artist on it as soon as we are done with issue #2 of The Ark.

Rachida's story begins when mysterious assailants assault her house while she is away at her job as a bartender. Her mother, father, and baby brother are murdered in the assault. The mystery behind this event propels her into a story of heritage and betrayal and ultimately she discovers that she is the heir to a long line of powerful priestesses of Vodun that traces all the way back to ancient Africa.

                  Gifted

We all either know or knew someone like Alex Anderson (depicted above), the main character of this story. He's the young man who has all the potential but it doesn't seem like he will ever grow into it. Or grow up at all for that matter. Adopted as an infant, Alex grew up without a single clue as to his complex heritage. A spoiled rich kid who cares little for anything save for music, intoxication, and sex, Alex decides to go public with his career as a DJ and discovers that the love of music he has always had is more than just a preference for entertainment. Currently, his first issue is completely scripted and I have recruited a new artist to start on it as soon as I am finished with The Ark #2.

The world of the Gifted (humans with control over a specific kind of spirit) has existed in secret alongside humanity for generations. The long awaited Muses, who can control the entire spirit realm, have been reborn after over a thousand years of absence and the organization who has been keeping the Gifted secret is now divided. Alex finds himself caught in the middle of a power struggle between freedom and secrecy as various groups want the new Muse to join their ranks and he just wants them to leave him alone. As the saying goes, one often finds his destiny on the road taken to avoid it.

       Codename Cavok

Clay Bren (depicted above) is a character in both The Ark, where he is a love interest, and Voodoo Queen, where he is a co-worker and friend. He himself has been affected by the Awakening and discovers that he has the soul of one of the first five werewolf alphas, the Red Wolf. There is something else to this character, however. Something far more ancient and powerful.

He gets his own comics after the first world event, but some of his mystery will have been unraveled by then in cameos in Voodoo Queen and even more in The Ark.

Julie Rose (depicted above) is a relatively new member of an order as old as time: The Plane Walkers. Dedicated guardians of the cosmos as well as the various spiritual planes of existence, the Plane Walkers are given a set of armor and staves that not only give them the ability to travel freely through the various realms of existence, but also grant abilities based off of the individual's personality as well as their zodiac signs, both eastern and western. Her character is going to be introduced in the first world event of my comic universe which will signal the release of the Plane Walker series. Currently, I have a friend in Britain who has put together the outline for the first volume of this series and will help me to write it.

                   Team Graphics

Team Graphics' a story about three game creators who were on the verge of making the next best thing in virtual reality gaming... instead they created a reality of their own, gaining superpowers in the process. Now they struggle to defend their world from those who would exploit it and from the dangers they programmed within. Occasionally, they will even have to protect the outside world from a thing or two that gains the ability to escape.

Right now, I have the first volume outlined. I will be writing it, possibly with the assistance of a co-author, at around the same time I plan on releasing Plane Walkers.
